Aloha!

Welcome to my journey of the world through the deepest cultural aspect; Food. I document my adventures in food one dish at a time.

Locted in Kona's International Marketplace El Mercdito is in the food court and not so easy to find but is worth the search.

Their menu is small but straight forward and caters to any Mexican dish you could be wanting.

Their Carne Asada is marinated in a great spice blend then grilled to a medium, I would like a medium- rare, but it is still juicy and tender as can be.

There is no fat or gristle in the meat and is accompanied with onion and celantro

I opted for a hard shell and was over loaded with meat.

*By far one of the best tacos I have ever had *

Their Shredded Beef is well "fully loaded" to the point it can not hold much else.

The meat is tender and falls apart with a buttery feel. It is a little dry but the salsa fixes that.

The lettuce, tomato, and cheese is minimal but does not go in noticed.

* I have only had one other Taco with this amount of meat and this is just as good if not better*

 Al Pastor

Al Pastor

This taco was really good but it did have a few problems.

The flavor was there but not any pineapple. The other problem was some of the meat was gristle and fat.
