El Encanto - Cavecreek, AZ

El Encanto - Cavecreek, AZ

Founded in 1989 by Bill and Christine Nelson this restaurant is built in the old world mission style. Once they got the building Bill got a chef he had known for years from Mexico. With this chef they became known as “best Mexican food in the Valley” and one reason is They consider the food as authentic Mexican food and is all made to order.

Apon entering the restaurant through an archway you will see a pond to the left where kids can feed ducks, look at turtles and fish. They do have a patio where you can eat eat by the water and enjoy live music.

Inside you can eat looking over the water. If you do eat inside the booths do have small murals depicting Mexican life and celebrations.

Carne Asada :

A tender ribeye steak, mesquite grilled to perfection. served with a cheese enchilada, rice and beans

First of all I ordered this Medium Rare!

The carne asada was either cooked over or under to the point some places were almost raw.

There is a lot of fat and a moderate amount of gristle to this.

They say it's grilled on mesquite but there is no taste or flavor nor aroma of it in any way. in most aspects, it really tastes bland.
